The responsibility matrix defines roles and responsibilities throughout the entire data lifecycle – from collection and classification to validation, storage and use to transfer, archiving and deletion. It clearly assigns tasks according to RACI logic and ensures that data owners, stewards, IT, specialist departments and data protection functions work together consistently and in compliance with regulations.
